STARS

Science, Technology, And Research Support

STARS (Science, Technology, and Research Support) was founded in 2000 and has donated more than $1,000,000 towards medical research for neurological diseases. We are a Tax exempt IRS 501(c)(3) charity, Fed I.D. #35-2206298. All of the fundraising is done by our members, and all of the funds we raise go directly into medical research. There is no paid staff.

We are proud to support the following research centers:

Center for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (CDMD) at UCLA

Duchenne is one of the most common and devastating genetic diseases of childhood and affects young boys. The clinic at UCLA is achieving significant advances in research, clinical care, and treatments which will potentially extend the lives of those afflicted. The CDMD leads the nation in translational science focused on Duchenne and comprehensive care.
Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Research Institute in La Jolla

SBP is an independent non-profit medical discovery institute which receives funding from private and government grants as well as private philanthropy. Researcher there have made significant advances in the study of ALS, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s. They recruit graduate students, postdocs and faculty who work hard to pioneer new treatments for these diseases as well as many others.
